Successful provider credentialing is all about timing.  Ideally you will want to submit your provider’s credentialing applications ninety days in advance of a provider’s hire date.  It is important, therefore, to collect the provider’s supporting documentation (medical license, DEA, curriculum vitae, etc.) well in advance.

Once you submit your provider’s credentialing applications to the health networks it is vital to follow up within ten business days to make sure the applications are received and every thirty days thereafter to verify the applications are in process.  Avoid application processing delays by responding immediately to any requests for additional credentialing information.

Following these simple tips will ensure your providers are added to the health networks timely.
